Nova TV has announced the return of its popular talent show Superstar in the fall of 2025. Based on the international Idol franchise by Fremantle, the show will once again unite Czech and Slovak audiences. The new season will be titled Superstar Česko Slovensko.

Auditions for the new season are open starting this week, with a minimum age of 15. Both Nova TV and its Slovak sister channel, Markíza, have released a teaser promising a "bigger and better" version of the show.

The previous season, which aired in 2021, consisted of 16 episodes and averaged 617,000 viewers in the Czech Republic. While the show was quite successful in the Czech Republic, ratings in Slovakia were significantly lower compared to previous seasons, marking a historical low for the franchise.

Superstar Česko Slovensko 2025 will be the eighth season co-produced by Nova TV and Markíza since 2009. Prior to their collaboration, both countries had produced several seasons of Superstar independently.
