Prima Group appoints Lukáš Kubát as CEO to accelerate digital shift
The Czech media company Prima Group has announced a leadership reshuffle designed to accelerate its digital transformation. Lukáš Kubát, the former Chief Financial Officer, is taking over the daily management of the group and the implementation of its long-term strategy. Marek Singer, who has led the company for many years, will now concentrate on strategic development, innovation, and partnerships.
"After seventeen years, I am passing the baton in the group's management," said Marek Singer. "In seventeen years, we have built the largest Czech multimedia house from a single television channel, with consolidated results reaching nearly seven billion Czech crowns. However, the ongoing fundamental transformation of media behavior among viewers and listeners motivates us that now, at our peak, is the right moment to make a significant change and entrust the day-to-day management to the next generation."
In the new structure, Marek Singer holds the position of Chairman of the Board. Lukáš Kubát becomes the new CEO, and will also serve as Vice-Chairman of the Board. The core leadership team also includes Investment Director Jaroslav Hrabovský, Commercial Director Jan Čadek, Technology Director Josef Stránský, and the new Chief Financial Officer, Jan Dosoudil.
"My priority will be the ability to react quickly to changes in the media environment and to support the team in adapting to new challenges," stated Lukáš Kubát. "Digitalization brings fundamental changes in viewer habits and new ways of monetization – and in this, I see a great opportunity for the further development of our online platforms."
Marek Singer has been at the helm of Prima Group since March 2014, having also served as the television's executive director from 2008 to 2013. During his tenure, he transformed Prima from a single TV station into a multimedia company active across all major media types. His prior experience includes management positions at Unilever, Masterfoods, and Karlovarské minerální vody.
Lukáš Kubát previously served as Prima Group's CFO. He began his career at Ernst & Young and Deloitte. Before joining Prima, he worked for ten years at CME, a major broadcaster in Central and Eastern Europe, where he focused on corporate strategy and content monetization across the region.
The new CFO, Jan Dosoudil, was previously the Deputy CFO at Prima. He gained extensive experience in finance and controlling at a development company and spent a significant part of his career at EY, holding managerial audit positions in both Prague and New York.
