AMC Networks International has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights for Italian football in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, starting from the 2024/2025 season. Fans will be able to watch Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana on the pay-TV channels Sport1 and Sport2, which will take over from the current broadcaster Nova Sport.

The multi-year deal will bring more than 400 matches of top-tier Italian football to viewers each season, covering the entire Serie A campaign, the prestigious Coppa Italia tournament, and the Italian Super Cup. Nova Sport has been the home of Serie A in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since the 2021/2022 season.

The addition of Italian football significantly expands the football portfolio of Sport1 and Sport2, which already includes the Europa League, Europa Conference League, UEFA Nations League, and European qualifiers.

Serie A consistently ranks among the top leagues in the UEFA rankings, with clubs like AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, AS Roma, Napoli, Lazio, and Fiorentina regularly competing in the latter stages of European competitions. The Milan giants have won a combined ten Champions League titles, while AS Roma clinched the Conference League in 2022, and Juventus holds the record for the most Serie A titles with 36.

Several Czech and Slovak players currently ply their trade in Italy, including Antonín Barák (Fiorentina), Jakub Jankto (Cagliari), Daniel Samek (Lecce), Stanislav Lobotka (Napoli), Duda and Suslov (Hellas Verona), Norbert Gyömbér (Salernitana), and Adam Obert (Cagliari).
